Energy Boost Smoothie

A smoothie is the perfect option if you are looking for a quick, complete, rich and healthy breakfast. 

What can you put in your smoothie to make it complete, full of nutrients and to have energy during the day?

The key to making a complete smoothie is to incorporate:

  • Fruits such as berries, apples, papaya, banana, etc.

  • Vegetable to have some fiber like spinach, kale, celery, etc.

  • Fat to have up to 6 hours of satiety such as nuts, almond cream, chia, flaxseed, etc.

  • Protein: either in powder or you can add a vegetable such as 1 tablespoon of chia or flaxseed

These ingredients are the base for your smoothie, but you can add extra superfoods to your taste! 

A superfood that you can add to your smoothies is matcha. Matcha is made from ground green tea leaves. Since the whole leaf is consumed, this makes it high in antioxidants, gives energy, and gives it a stronger “green tea” flavor when you drink it.

Here’s a delicious smoothie recipe that will give you energy and is full of nutrients:

Ingredients:

1 cup of coconut or almond milk (you can use water too)

¼ cup of mango or 1/2 pc of banana

1 handful of spinach

1 slice of peeled ginger

1 tsp matcha powder

1 serving of your favourite protein powder

1 tbsp almond or peanut butter or 1/4 avocado

Add all the ingredients to your blender, blend everything very well, serve and enjoy!

You will get a bright green color, that is the definition of colours full of nutrients!
